This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students come from a diverse background, yet the books we currently have do not represent them. I want to give them books where they can see themselves and feel good that they are being represented, in addition to seeing the world outside their school.
As an International Baccalaureate School, we teach students to be inquirers and open-minded individuals.
To see the world through different lenses with books that they can relate to will be a start. They are risk-takers, inquirers, and explorers. Both the Let’s Find Out and Science Spin books will open a world of possibilities. The right book will open their minds.
