My students need 12 VGA connectors so they can utilize and view apps from the classroom iPad on our SMART Board.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Payton's classroom raised $436

My Students
Remember how excited you got when you learned something new as a child? Imagine how 264 students learning new skills would feel to learn something new daily with your help!
My students along with the other 242 students that will benefit from this project are a very diverse group of students.
Some of these students come from a background with little to no technology or literacy, while others have access to books, computers, and iPads daily. Our students are excited and eager to learn and enjoy using the iPad to explore apps and learn new skills. They love being able to manipulate the SMART Board to learn. Each classroom currently has a SMART Board and 1 classroom iPad for the teacher to use with the students. In a school our size and with class sizes at 21-23, it is impossible for us to provide our students with the opportunity to interact with the iPad on a daily or weekly basis.
My Project
Currently, when we use apps to explore new skills or review skills previously learned, students either have to crowd around our 1 iPad or we use our document cameras to display the app on the iPad. The document camera is a wonderful resource, but doesn't always show the colors of the iPad and shows what's happening at a delay. Teachers will use the VGA connectors to connect their iPads to the SMART Board project so that all apps will be projected on the screen for the entire class to see and interact with easily. All literacy and math apps, books, interactive math manipulatives, and more that teacher's have downloaded or purchased will be able to be seen and used by all students. We use the iPad daily to explore new skills or review skills previously learned, so having the VGA cables will allow all students to benefit from the information being shared on the iPad rather than just a few.
Donations to this project will help allow all students to interact with technology as teachers integrate it daily.
Learning to use technology will better prepare them for middle school, high school, college and future careers. Though they won't each be able to have their own iPad to use, each student will be able to see and interact with an iPad daily. Thanks so much for reading about our project and considering making a donation that would benefit 12 Kindergarten class and 264 students!
