Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are challenged with many hardships before they even enter my classroom. This doesn't stop their eagerness to learn and explore while in my classroom. They attempt to make every day meaningful and positive. A majority of my students live in poverty, which creates many issues daily.
I serve a population who receives free breakfast and lunch.
Students also receive a snack after school and backpack full of food each weekend via a state grant. Despite all of these circumstances, my students continue to grow and inspire me.
My Project
My students do not have regular access to computers at school, and many do not have technology at home. My class sizes are large, so when my students do get an opportunity they must wait for each other to finish or work together to use computers. This creates various issues in class.
Having daily access to computers in class will enhance and deepen my students' learning.
Students will be able to research topics in real time and also be able to enhance their learning of different concepts covered in class. Having daily access to computers will also allow my students to complete various online activities and complete essays in class.
