I have the privilege to work at a school that provides free breakfast and lunch for all students.
This is a community that appreciates the little things and can benefit from support of others.
There are three 1st grade classes. One of the classes is a dual immersion class. We are fortunate to see the joys of learning and discovering with each of these students, every day. Providing opportunities and experiences for students to connect their learning to real life, while also sharing more about the world around them is vital for students' learning.
My Project
Making real-life connections and experiences continues to be proven to enhance student learning. This in turn with help with students' interest in reading, therefore supporting reading growth.
This experience will give them an opportunity to see how reading/literacy can connect to other elements in the world around them.
Providing access of opportunities and experiences is important for all students, including ours. Not only is the literacy connection important, but the exposure of arts for future interests. The families may not advocate for this as much as others, but they deserve this experience for their children just as much, or even more!
