Connecting Inner City Students to the World via the Internet
Help me give my students laptops so they will be able to access the technology tools (like iReady and MyOn) that will help them close their achievement gaps
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am the third grade reading/language arts and social studies teacher at an inner-city school in Florida. I teach 40 young boys and girls who make me smile, laugh, and celebrate the joys of teaching every single day.
These are children who have SO MUCH to give the world, but do not always have everything that they need to succeed.
I want to be one of the people in their lives who provides for them. I want to ensure that they ALWAYS have what they need to do their very best at school.
My Project
When my students receive these laptops they will be used every single day! My students will be able to access differentiated learning through iReady that will target their specific instructional needs. My students will also be able to access new forms of literacy through MyOn, where they can access and read books that they do not have physical access to.
These laptops will help me to help my students make the learning gains that they should make this year!
With more laptops available to my students, more students will be able to access the necessary technology to KEEP LEARNING every minute of the day.
