My Students
Each year, I get a set of students that are overall somewhat not interested in school. Why? Students can get tired of the traditional "sit down listen to the lecture "type lessons. My job is to make English II come to life as a special education teacher. I try to use innovative ways with technology to enhance their comprehension skills, but it can be difficult due to low reading skills. My co-teacher goal is to have the students on a site that can read to them, according to their reading level, but the school does not have individual headphones for each student. With your help, I can help the students grow in reading comprehension at least three grade level, guaranteed, with the student's cooperation as well. Thank you in advance for your donation and helping my students become productive citizens in America. This is how we can make America great, by pushing for an effective and efficient education for ALL students.
My Project
First and foremost this project can help students hear various audio readings and lessons that are based on their lexile levels; as well as, active lessons on various educational sites, that are suitable for each student's learning levels. The students will be able to comprehend reading materials better and they will also learn how to read effectively and efficiently. The students will be able to grow academically due to having this opportunity to interact with various interventions.
This will also help my low performing students.
Some of my students are below grade level with learning disabilities. The headphones enable these students to feel comfortable in their learning and not ashame of their comprehension level. It will also build their confidence and motivate them to further their education and not give up on school, which will assist on lowering the rate of high school dropouts for our school.
