My Students
Every Friday, we sing a special song about our upcoming weekend plans. The Buttercups love to share their stories with one another. I want to make sure that their experiences are represented in the materials we read in class and at home.
The Buttercups are members of a mixed age public charter Montessori classroom.
They range in age from three to six years old. We are in our fourth year and continue to grow each season. The Buttercups enjoy preparing snack, sitting for stories, and singing nursery rhymes.
My Project
The Buttercups will see characters who look similar to themselves when hearing these stories. In the spring, we will study various fairy tales and these new additions will surely be enjoyed by all! The weekly reader will allow families to connect to our literacy program in a meaningful way. The baby doll will serve as a material that teaches children how to treat others in a respectful way.
As a teacher in a relatively new school, I have had to collect or make most of my literacy materials.
These books will supplement my curriculum in a very meaningful way. Most important families will be involved weekly. Together, we will grow knowledgeable, empathetic, and loving children!
