My Project

The world that our students will design is going to require mastery of STEAM, creative problem solving, and critical thinking skills. In order for students to develop and refine these abilities, they must be presented with challenging tasks that engage and utilize their whole brain.

My students are enthusiastic and eager 9th through 12th graders in a large, urban, public high school in our state.

They love science and are energized by complex challenges. As we engage and grow together, being able to connect to our content through new and creative techniques allows my students a more memorable and lasting impact in their learning. They are adventurous learners who are excited to try new things and make connections to our complex content in any way possible.

With these paint pouring materials, my students will have a unique opportunity to create visual images that represent the complex and abstract concepts that we explore in class. They will need to make color and compositional choices to align with their intentions, then they will need to adapt to the unpredictable nature of the product. Then they will be able to draw connections between their images and the concepts that we have studied in class throughout the year. This will, undoubtedly, be a truly unique and memorable experience for them!
