Our school is a Title I school in Missouri. About 90% of the students in our building are receiving free or reduced-price lunches. Around 70% of our students are English Language Learners.
Many of my students come from families who struggle to put a roof over their head and food on the table.
Even with the struggles they face, these kids love to learn and have a passion for finding out new information. I want to be able to provide resources for them to overcome barriers and be successful as they are entering a world full of technology.
This HP Chromebook will be used for students to research, type, explore and create. My students want to learn about the world around them. Many of them lack the vocabulary or life experiences to connect to life outside of our town.
This Chromebook will allow my students to learn new vocabulary, take virtual field trips, research new places, and much more.
I want to be able to prepare my students for the future. Many of these kids have no access to technology at home. As they get older, they are going to be expected to use technology in their career. We also use technology for state testing. This will allow them to become more familiar with it so that they be more prepared to learn.
