My Project
I am a first year Special Education Teacher in a self-contained third to fifth grade classroom. I believe that strong social skills are essential for success in life. I have been encouraging students to socialize with one another during Choice Time, where students have the time to decide what they would like to play and who they want to play with. During this time, students are able to communicate and interact with their peers and explore shared interests.
By providing students with various games in the classroom, they will have the opportunity to not only foster lasting relationships with friends as they play with one another, but also build confidence and enhance social skills, decision making skills, and communication skills.
