My Students

No books equals double the work for us social studies teachers in West Virginia! Over this past summer, West Virginia and my county decided to go online with the social studies subject matter, thus, removing books from the classroom! Yikes!

My students are amazing hands-on learners and they expect nothing less from me!

Throughout the year I have been coming up with great hands-on projects, and this is another one! My sixth grade students attend a middle school in West Virginia. They are very energetic, but like I mentioned, they are addicted to hands-on learning. These supplies are crucial!

My Project

My students need the instructional book "How a Bill Becomes a Law" along with large sticky post-it easel sheets to start a new unit. These resources would make a world of a difference in my classroom because it would take care of a hands-on project for an upcoming unit! Since I have to find my own curriculum in the classroom, the resource book I am requesting would save me hours worth of time hunting for information and projects! Additionally, I plan on using the large sticky post-it notes in groups for when the students need to come up with their own laws for our "mock congress" to pass! I plan on using the requested sharpies for the students to write on the sheets with.

This project would impact my students in more ways than one because without donations from generous people like yourself, my students won't get to use the large paper post-its or do the projects from the resource book that I ordered.

Additionally, the book will be able to be used in future years so that will be one less expense that I will need for the next school year.
