it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My sixth through eighth grade students are always eager to learn. Every morning they arrive on campus with a positive mind set and are enthusiastic for knowledge. Unfortunately, thirty percent of students are having a difficult time obtaining their uniforms in order to excel in learning.
The uniform materials requested will help to ensure that students have the opportunity to have clean clothing regularly.
Students in our district come from a high need background with limited to no access to laundering facilities on a regular basis. We have learned that many students do not have regular attendance due to not having the recommended uniform(s). I would like to impact student attendance and involvement by offering students the opportunity to have their very own uniform shirt. This project would directly impact school involvement and attendance rates by building a more nurturing school climate where students feel able to express themselves because basic needs are met, such as having their own uniform shirt.
