My Students

Our school is filled with a community of learners. Each student comes to school excited about what they will learn that day. As their teacher, I want to foster that love of learning.

Our students are excited about ​school and have an innate need to learn all that they can absorb.

With our military population that is constantly moving in and out of our school, we want to make each day better than before, so we can encourage that love of school. Our goal is to promote this excitement so students come to school each day excited about what amazing things they will learn that day, wondering what interesting activities they will participate in. We endeavor to make school feel like a second home.

My Project

Kindergarten is a vital year for building students' confidence. Students learn the foundations that will set them up for success throughout their entire school career.

Let's start my kindergarteners off right with books that will build their confidence as readers!

I am requesting book bins and first series of decodable readers. These books will grow with their skills, with each book focusing on one vowel sound, then gradually including them all. As students progress through the series, they will be practicing each skill learned previously. This will allow them to master each vowel sound and become fluent readers.

The second decodable book series focuses on consonants. Once students have mastered the vowel sounds, they will have the chance to solidify their letter sound knowledge, as well as practice blending. These skills are important to help them become amazing readers.

We would also love a set of book boxes to hold and organize our books. Students will have the ability to choose from the variety of books we will have, reading what will make them happy.

With your support, my students will find a love for reading that will help them be successful throughout school and their future career.
