Conducive Learning Environment

My project needs classroom supplies to create a conducive and inspiring learning environment. We need easurement tools: beakers, droppers, thermometers; magnifying glasses, living ecosystem and organ models.

FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Boling's classroom raised $692

This project is fully funded

This year I have been given the opportunity to teach the science cluster program in a high needs elementary school located in New York. I would like to convert the classroom into a science learning environment to ensure that my learners' surroundings are conducive with the lesson and activities presented. I would like the room to be inviting, enriching and supplied with the proper tools to reinforce my learners' knowledge. I feel that my students would truly benefit from such an environment and the tools provided. Some of the many classroom tools that I requested to further my learner’s instruction consist of: thermometers, beakers, magnets, magnifying glasses, living ecosystem and human organ models so that the student may be motivated through the sight of the actual concept being studied. Not only do they have the opportunity to utilize and become familiar with the scientific process, they actually are given the opportunity to use tools that scientist use accompanied by an array of visual aides and not to be limited due to a lack of supplies and funding. It has been my experience in my six years of teaching that a great deal of retained knowledge comes with completing hands on tasks and actually being in an environment that is advantageous with the units of study. I truly believe that the supplies issued will create that collaborative learning environment and allow my learners an experience that they would rarely gain.
