My Students

Whole class and small groups based on students' instructional levels in reading and writing are necessary to help them GROW and meet expectations!

My school is a Title I, fifth and sixth grade intermediate school with students from various ethnic and economic backgrounds.

As part of a teaching team, I teach three language arts classes each day. Whole group and small group instruction are vital parts of my instructional day as I have 90 students with a variety of reading and writing abilities. All students participate in whole and small groups and need specialized instruction to help them achieve their expectations.

My Project

This classroom item seems basic: a brightly colored rug. However, this rug will create a warm, happy, positive environment for my students. Although these are fifth graders, they still need time to share together their learning on a carpet used for both whole and small group instruction.

Having a comfortable place to sit, instead of the cold concrete, will allow students to feel comfortable in their learning environment.

A happy meeting place where students can come together to learn, share, grow, and inspire is what is desired!

This one item might not seem like much, but it's important for my sweet fifth graders! We appreciate you taking time to learn about our classroom.
