Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As the teacher for wonderful, curious, and hard working sixth and seventh graders. My school has introduced periods called "WIN" -- "What I Need". My students project will be to become entrepreneurs.
Richard Branson stated, "The best time to start a business is when you're young, your fearlessness and fresh perspective can lead to groundbreaking ideas and innovations."
Entrepreneurship education teaches students skills they can use well into their adult years. These skills include leadership, working with others, using the internet and social media for marketing, as well as developing creative ways to create new products. The students are formed into a group between 5 to 6, students per group. As group they are to conceive a product, figure out how to make it and the supplies needed. They will learn what the cost is to make a product, package a product, sale the product for a profit and market the product.
The supplies I requested like color markers, beads, yarns, and blank shirts will open door to the creativity of my students. Also, I requested some snacks, I need to keep their creative minds fueled.
I teach in a diverse population of students ranging from honors to special education learners who come from different cultural backgrounds and educational needs. We are a Title 1 school which means that students come from many different social and economic circumstances. Please partner with me to help my kids learn a skill that can change their lives
