As a teacher in the upper grades, I'm focused on preparing my students for the world beyond high school. Many of them will pursue post-secondary education.
My students are curious.
They want to immerse themselves in work that is relevant to the world around them. They are passionate advocates for the causes that are close to their hearts. I admire these traits in them, and I want to support their development as critical thinkers.
My Project
Our school is offering AP Seminar, the first foundational course in the AP Capstone program, for the first time. This course develops students' core academic skills and prepares them for the demands of higher education.
We seek to provide opportunities for students to pursue inquiry related to real-world issues that matter to them, which is why we would like to feature Scholastic's New York Times Upfront magazine as a key resource.
This digital subscription will allow students to access this material whether they learning remotely or in school. Regularly engaging with current events will help students become informed citizens who can make an impact on our community.
