My students need two Chromebooks to help promote research, and provide students with the opportunities to use technology in our classroom.

My Students
Technology is the where we are headed and my students are asked to share a cart of 25 laptops with 5 classrooms in our hallway. That allows for my students to possibly get a computer in their hands once a week. This does not give them adequate time to learn or explore with technology in the classroom. We are considered a Title l school with a mix of students both academically and socially.
My students this year will be moving with me from first grade to second grade.
They are an active and vibrant bunch, and love to take on new challenges and ownership of their learning. With limited resources, it is challenging to help promote their curiosity. Having more resources in the classroom is what we are striving towards. This will allow students to be able to work in different areas of our classroom, create projects and conduct research with peers, and promote a new and stronger dialogue within our classroom.
My Project
My class needs two Chromebooks to support their daily learning! Having Chromebooks in the classroom will allow for students to ask questions and immediately get up, grab a computer, set up a workstation, and begin the research. It will get them acclimated to the technology that is used when completing standardized testing and close the learning gap of how computers work. It will also allow these students to take ownership and control of their own learning. Being fortunate enough to have a few Chromebooks in the classroom full time will promote opportunities for my students.
Having technology readily available in the classroom will begin to close the achievement gap.
It will make the students ready to work independently in future grades and give them the technology needed to succeed in everyday life.
