Computers Needed for Virtual Learning

Help me give my students computers during the COVID19 outbreak and the school closures. These are needed to transition to virtual learning.

My Students

My students are amazing 6th graders from the greater Hartford area. Unfortunately, many of them are facing significant hardships now during the COVID19 pandemic. A significant portion of my students live in poverty. Some do not have computers at home. As the pandemic continues, schools will likely be closed for many weeks, and I want my students to know that we, as teachers, are there for them.

My students need computers to continue their learning.

I have found many great online resources that have generously become free, and internet providers are offering free internet for the next few months, but these aren't helpful if students don't have devices. Please help me continue their education and bring a little normalcy to their lives.

My Project

These computers are needed as we transition to virtual learning. The consequences are dire: students who are lucky enough to have computers at home (such as those in more affluent towns) can continue learning, while students in poorer areas and lack of access will fall behind. This would be unacceptable.

My students will use these computers on a daily basis to continue their learning while schools are closed during the COVID19 pandemic.

These computers can be used even when we get back to school and can be used for years to come.

We as teachers are committed to providing our students with the best online education we can give. We will work just as hard or even harder than we did while school was in session. We will take advantage of every online tool their is to make sure our students learn and to maintain a strong community. All of this requires a computer at home.
