My students need 25 RAM memory upgrade chips for their laptops. The new RAM memory will allow the students to access web based educational resources.
FULLY FUNDED! Mr. Vanegas's classroom raised $410

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Many students learn at different paces. I teach high school science, and I want all students to succeed at learning new science concepts. Many of the students at my school need more time to master concepts. Computers allow students to learn at their own pace and conduct unique research.
My High School students are from East Side Los Angeles, California.
I find my students fun to be around, they have strong family values, and great attitudes toward life. Many of the students will be the first ones to go to college. The High School has over 1,700 students and is an International Baccalaureate school, were students produce many projects that focus on problems that face the Earth and its communities.
My Project
The memory chips will allow students to efficiently access Internet based education. The computer chips will more than double the current RAM memory of the laptops. RAM memory is the memory that helps computers run the internet and programs efficiently. Currently the laptop computers which are over 5 years old have a small amount of operating memory, so the internet is painfully slow!! I recently added new memory to one of the laptops and it made a huge difference in the operating speed. I currently use "Brain Pop", News ELA, PHET Labs, and Quizlet websites to enhance the students education. The "News ELA" website allow students to read at a level that is appropriate for their individual needs. The textbook only allows for one reading level, and many students are behind their grade level in reading.
Teaching in the Internet age means we must teach tomorrow’s skills today.
With your generous donations, you will help students learn science in a way that best suites their learning styles and ability level. Students will be able to conduct unique research on important topics that relate to our everyday lives. I have learned how to integrate technology as a teacher but lack the computer resources to fully implement technology in the classroom.
