This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school has old, slow, and barely usable laptops. I need laptops for our student government to use. We plan school wide events, write proposals, and search out articles and discussion topics. Our current laptops have become unusable, since they no longer will connect to the Internet.

My students are ambitious: they have big goals and dreams.

This year I am working with 14 students who were elected to student government. One of their main focuses is to create social justice campaigns to educate their peers. Our lack of supplies dampens their enthusiasm and creativity.

My Project

With laptop computers, we will be able to research social justice projects and implement an ambitious curriculum of school wide change. With functional, modern computers, or efforts will be much more efficient and successful. For example, during our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration, we had to move rooms daily in order to use computers. Student government contains 14 students, and currently we have 3 working laptops, which they have to share. My students need 2 laptop computers. We will use them in Student Government, AP Environmental Science, and in my advisory.

This project is very important for our entire school.

Student government plans activities for the majority of the school. The better the supplies that we have, the more that we can affect our school community as a whole.
