Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Four old, slow computers are not compatible with a group of active and enthusiastic learners. I teach kindergarten, in a self-contained classroom which means that I teach my students all the subjects in our curriculum from Mathematics to History. I teach children who vary in level of school readiness and learning styles. My students range from the high achieving to at-risk and special education and everyone in between.

Currently, I have 4 outdated computers that cause more frustration than they benefit the children. My students are often unable to go on-line nor finish assigned computer tasks due to the slow processing. Furthermore, the computers are often in need of repair.

I need at least 1 new computer to add to our classroom set, to replace one of the older computers. Having access to computers in the classroom help give students individualized instruction by allowing students to access software/websites that help target areas of need (such as reading) as well as provide opportunities for children to research special interest topics.

Your help will make it possible for my students to be able to access all the benefits of the world-wide web and instructional software; as well as, being able to complete individual research projects.
