Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a bilingual teacher located in Camden, NJ. The school has a large Hispanic population and contains a large English Learner population. The majority of the students qualify for free breakfast, lunch, and after school programs. Our goal is that they become bi-literate. My students are high energy, loving and have a desire to learn. While many of them experience stress as a result of extreme poverty they are so full of love for learning and their teachers. It is a blessing to be able to serve them and help them grow.

My Project

These Chromebooks will give every student an opportunity to research, and use educational websites to learn English, practice Math and maximize learning. They don't get a chance to use the computers that much since we only have two working in the classroom.

My English Language Learners will have access to Imagine Learning, Think Through Math and Reading A-Z.

With the new Chromebooks, every student will get more time to practice, learn and flourish in our classroom. They need to be able to learn how to do research for many projects throughout the year. They are needed more than ever now.
