My Students
Do you use technologyin your work place? Well, I want to give my students the opportunity to engage in math through technology along with some materials to help organize the classroom.
My students come from diverse backgrounds.
Some of the students are middle class, while many of them are from a lower economic community. My class has about 82% receiving free and reduced price lunch. Even though some of my kids have a tough life at home, they come to school eager to learn. They want to do well and they want to understand the content that is being taught. I want to be able to bring in as many resources for these students because I know many of them don't have the resources at home.
My Project
The computers will be used by three classrooms. We are an open concept school so we have no walls, which means we can share very easily. Our computers are dying and we have 4 that are working for the three classrooms right now and we would like more. The mice will help students navigate the computers and I would like to add word to some of the computers so students can practice their typing skills. The place value blocks are to help engage students during actvitiy time and the chart stands are to help orangize the classroom and make more space for us to hang things and write things down. Being open concent it is very difficult to find wall space (because we have one per a class!).
This project will help many students and classrooms.
It will also help students work in small groups better because the stands will give us space to work in a group and having more computers means more students can work on the computers. Right now only half of the computer group can work on the computers and it would be nice if all students could work on them.
