Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach a second grade class on the near west side of Chicago. We have used computers in our classroom for the past 10 years as a learning center. I use a rotation system where we move from reading to computer to writing. A bell rings and the students know they will move to the next station. The students love this setup. They never get bored and tired of sitting in one center too long. A few weeks ago, my ten year old computers stopped working. We need a computer to take the place of some of the computers that quit. My students use computers for research projects such as following Dr. Paul Serreno's expedition through the Sahara Desert for dinosaur fossils or searching for unique behaviors of birds or zoo animals. We write stories on the computer, work on math problems and listen to stories. The students don't feel their day is complete without computer time. Computers have become so important to all classroom students. Please help my wonderful, dedicated students become technicians in this computer world. These students are our future. Let's help them succeed. I need one Desktop computer from Office Depot #T6528 for the price of $499.00 to start my center.
