My students need a state of the art laptop to better provide pull out intervention. I do not have a classroom and provide services to Deaf and hard of hearing students.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"“If I hadn't lost my hearing, I wouldn't be where I am now. It forced me to maximize my own potential. I have to be better than the average person to succeed.”
― Lou Ferrigno
I provide small group and 1-1 instruction to students who are deaf and hard of hearing, at the pre-kindergarten level.
My students are Deaf and hard of hearing, ranging in ages from 3 to 5 years old.
I work in a Title One school, so receiving the best technology is not always readily available. My students are active and so curious about the world around them. However, due to their deafness, many are delayed in not only academia, but in oral language communication. I must constantly work with my students to bridge the gap between them and their typical hearing peers. However, this requires a lot of pull out instruction and one to one correspondence.
My Project
The laptop will better allow for me to provide one on one pull out intervention instruction. My students are special needs and often need unconventional methods to receive the academic and language information. Due to lack of space, much of the pull out intervention must happen out of the general education setting, thus limiting the resources available to my students.
The donation of this lap top will not only provide a dependable machine to lesson plan, but serve as an intermediate between the classroom and pull out intervention services.
Being as though my students and I do not have a set pull out intervention space, it makes it very difficult to travel with materials for sessions. The laptop will provide a easy, lightweight companion that can be used to hold interactive session materials.
