Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are a school that lost $7k in funding. All of our students are on free or reduced lunch and live in a neighborhood considered to be inner city. Our students have been displaced out of comprehensive classrooms where class sizes were too large. With us, they get more one-on-one attention and personalized learning; they're more than just a number. We have been able to focus and restore some self-esteem and confidence in their abilities to love math and science.
My Project
A 2nd monitor will help students in the virtual classroom by being able to see a virtual whiteboard and view additional materials that assist in learning. For example, in math, we need the ability to use a whiteboard as well as pull up the actual worksheets and assignments simultaneously.
In science, virtual resources from TpT will give students the ability to view and explore more visual opportunities.
As teachers, we constantly have to switch screens, sometimes by using 2 computers that can be unreliable in terms of connections and viewing purposes. A 2nd monitor will allow classes to flow easier as we will be able to display additional materials for all to see.
