Computer Programming with Dash and Dot!

My students need an iPad mini with case and Robot Wonder pack to have 21st century learning tools at their finger tips. We need to learn how to code by using an iPad mini to program our robots: Dash and Dot.

My Students

“For Every Child We Teach To Cherish Learning, A Universe Is Born.” ― D. Simone Technology has transformed education but while students learn how to use it, they rarely learn how it works. My students need to begin learning how to code using simple robots like Dash and Dot!

We are a New York City public school in one of the most diverse boroughs in the country, the borough of Queens.

We speak many languages and represent many cultures. That diversity is our wealth and we have been very proud of a recent report saying we have made excellent student progress. Because we have made that progress, we need the best resources to continue that excellent trend. It would be such a wonderful gift if we could have this proposal!

My Project

We are requesting an iPad mini with case and Robot Wonder pack to teach our 21st century students skills they will use for a life time. They need to use technology effectively and understand how it works. Using the iPad mini to program Dash and Dot in the classroom will also improve my students' problem-solving and thinking skills. My third graders need to begin to be able to program and code!

Although we have many friendly faces in our classroom, Dash and Dot will be two exciting additions to our room.

Students will be able to use the iPad mini to program our robots to do extraodinary tasks. Working in teams they can learn how to use Dash and Dot and teach other students as well. My students need to be engaged in the learning activities that are part of their daily lives. We need to use Dash and Dot to begin to learn computer programing.
