My Project
I've been teaching a classroom music composition unit for several years now, and it's always amazing to see (and hear) the music created by each class. Using the skills learned in concert band class and the instinctive knowledge of music that each student possesses, every class creates a unique and distinct composition that reflects their ideas and impressions.
After the students compose with pencil and paper, a select group (the Composers Club) transcribe the ideas of the class into digital music using powerful music software called Sibelius.
Unfortunately, our currently classroom computer is not able to keep up with the demands of the software or the class. Upon doing some research, we've discovered that other users of Sibelius have found success with gaming computers, whose increased speed and memory can easily handle the demands of the software.
