My students need three computers, a paper trimmer, and a border punch.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Walker's classroom raised $983

My Students
Can you be successful in college without any computer skills? The answer is clearly NO! This project aims to address this situation by supplying us with three computers that students can use in school and at home.
We are a transfer school in Manhattan that accepts students who have persevered through difficult situations that may have caused other students to drop out.
They often come to us with little or no experience using the computer. Some do not even know how to send an email or type a paragraph.
By the end of their time in our school, students are writing research papers that are a minimum of ten pages in length and are presenting their findings to teachers, non-classroom educators, and professionals in the community.
My Project
We are trying to eventually have a class set of computers so that every student can have his or her own laptop to use in class. Currently, we need about 6 more. I am requesting 3 netbooks in this proposal. Additionally, we are requesting a paper trimmer and a border punch to use in the collages they also make.
While students are not allowed to take school-owned computers home to use to type papers, they are allowed to take these home in order to complete their work. This is why it is essential to acquire these computers through programs like DonorsChoose. Students can accomplish a lot of work at school, but they also need the resources to complete work at home. All of the computers that I have ever checked out to students for home use have always been returned on time and in proper working condition.
Supplying students with the materials they need in order to be successful is essential to their success.
I thank you in advance for even reading this proposal. I offer even more gratitude if you choose to make a difference in our community by making the decision to donate!
