it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach groups of students with dyslexia in the elementary setting. In addition to teaching phonics skills to teach them to read words, I teach comprehension lessons that help them understand what they are reading. Read-aloud books are intended to be read by the teacher to the students, and can be used alongside both my phonics and comprehension lessons to help students grasp the concepts they are taught. The dry-erase boards will be used by my students during the phonics and phonological awareness portions of our daily lessons as well.
These engaging read-aloud books are needed to allow students to deepen their understanding of various comprehension skills I teach them during groups!
In addition to explicitly teaching comprehension skills, read-aloud books help expand students' vocabulary, build their listening comprehension, encourage discussion and critical thinking, and model fluent reading.
