Help me give my students reading comprehension tasks to help them improve their reading.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Fraas's classroom raised $168
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students sit in a classroom that is culturally balanced. My students come from various countries and speak various languages at home. The students in my class come from families that are struggling financially. The students attend a Title I school where funds are limited to purchase things that will enhance their learning outside of a textbook.
The students in my class are hands-on learners, and learn better without a pencil in their hands.
Many of my students also suffer from attention deficit disorder, in which distraction overrides their learning
My Project
How do you get a group of third graders reading to understand and learn? In the lower grades they learn to read, but in the upper grades, they read to learn about new things. The struggle that my third graders are having is being able to learn from what they are reading.
Reading comprehension is a crucial skill that we need at any age if you read something, how do you make it stick?
That is why I would like to have these comprehension task cards to help my students read something and have it stick. I want my students to enjoy reading and learn from reading not because they have to but because they want to.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
