Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
To experience real-life science in front of their eyes, while producing nutrient-rich soil, students will host a worm farm in our classroom!
I will be teaching an entire unit about invertebrates soon and I am hoping I can bring some live ones into class before my students do!
I cannot count the number of times that I've had to stop students from bringing spiders or insects into the classroom from outside on the playground. This project will really throw them off!
I'm excited to get our hands dirty and hopefully contribute some worm castings to families and community gardens around the neighborhood!
Additionally, I've requested some curriculum and books to assist in my future endeavor as a third grade teacher!
