Compost Kids To The Rescue

Help me give my students composting bins to develop an environment to reduce their carbon footprint and grow their future.

My Project

We have a budding group of enthusiastic learners who want to expand their world. Our students need an excellent hands-on science activity to bolster their future environment. By composting, they will learn about the three environmental Rs (reduce, recycle, and reuse), what items are biodegradable, the importance of worms & insects, and much more.

When students begin to manage their own food scraps they are inevitably drawn into broader learning related to ethics, personal responsibility, and environmental citizenship.

The composting bins, accelerator, and measuring tools will provide a healthy start to our garden lab program. Our students will integrate biology, math, social studies, and writing while having fun learning.
