Composition Books for Biology Storylines

Help me give my students composition notebooks on the first day of the 2nd semester!

My Project

Every student deserves to have the necessary tools to be successful in a class, but unfortunately, time and finances can get in the way of this. I am requesting composition books for all of my students so that we can all jump straight into learning on the same page (pun intended!).

Learning via storylines has been a challenge even for my most academically gifted students.

Storylines require A LOT of paper, which often contributes to the disorganization and confusion. We have tried using prong folders, but the amount of paper, coupled with students opting to tuck papers in pockets rather than secure them on prongs has been a hindrance to success for many. Because of this, organizing their thoughts in an easy-to-study manner has been almost impossible.

I plan to utilize these notebooks to give students a central location to secure necessary paperwork (data tables, excerpts, etc.) and to write their analysis and summary. This will allow me to drastically cut down on the amount of handouts given to students (saving a few trees!) and limit the number of things students sift through in order to find the important information they need to review.

I believe that with these books, I can help students better organize their learning and greatly improve their chances of success!
