My Students
Whenever you step into my classroom, you will always see a burst of student creativity - students performing on instruments, singing, composing, writing, discussing, and so much more. Everyday, these students walk into my classroom eager, excited, and ready to think like a musician.
My students are the greatest kids on the planet - They are the brightest, most enthusiastic, hard-working students I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
Whenever they walk into the music room, many smile, because they know they are going into a safe environment, where they have a voice and have an opportunity to create beautiful music with their friends.
My Project
I am requesting 10 copies of the "Compose Yourself" music decks, which will allow my students to compose music using online based software. Students will be able to work in groups with a computer to compose melodies, add accompaniment, and change the instrumentation of their work. Also, this product will also allow our students to reinforce their understanding of the writing process, which is part of the Common Core State Standards. These decks will be used with grades 1-5, allowing so many students to hear and think about music differently.
Your donation will help my students become more knowledgeable composers and musicians, as well as transform the way they look at and hear music in their everyday lives.
