Composing and Creating with iPads

Help me give my students 3 iPads for our music classroom. The iPads provide my students the opportunity to create and compose using Garage Band as well as use a multitude of music apps for instruction!

My Students

I work with the most amazing students each and every day! My Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students learn to sing, play, chant, and move in music. In 3rd grade, students begin to apply their knowledge to compose, create and improvise in music. We use a variety of instruments and technology to compose in music class.

We have no technology in our classroom, except for what I have received through grants.

It's my desire to have iPads available for my students to use in musix class. I want to extend the curriculum with technology so that my 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students can continue to learn, compose, and create in more challenging and relevant ways. Helping my students to understand how music impacts them on a daily basis through composition is a fabulous way to engage, inspire, and connect with my students.

My Project

My students love expressing themselves creatively in music class. From composing music in the style of the Carnival of the Animals, to The Blues, to Songwriting, and real-life applications of creating music for Commercials and Video Games, my students are composing music regularly!

We use Garage Band on the iPads to create and compose music, but our technology is outdated and needs to be replaced.

I know from my students' feedback that they love creating music and WANT to do the work on their own. We need iPads as they are compatible with our iMacs and have iMovie and Garage Band on them. Please help bring our vision come to reality!
