Complex Filming Requires Drones

My Students

Many of my students will be the first in their family to graduate from high school. My students have all entered this school through a merit and a lottery system. We take over 400 applications a year, the students who apply must write an essay on the traits of an IB learner as well as meet GPA requirements. They are drawn from all over the city and all walks of life.

The school has received a great deal of support, but many useful tools did not fit into the budget.

My kids are great, and many have overcome huge hurdles to come to this school. They really are a great generation.

School is an important part of the lives of my students, not only for the education but the chance at a better future. With many of our students qualifying for free and reduced-price lunch, times are hard on them and their families.

My Project

My students have a desire to make a very complex video and it requires some odd tech. They want to do a dance routine in Spanish and make a music video.

The only way to show their moves at the right angles is with a Camera Drone that can film them from almost any angle.

I was not crazy about my kids building scaffolding and filming from some unsafe angles. One of my students came up with a great way to film that was cheaper than building all the stuff we would have needed. I am not sure how these drones work but my kids are super pumped about trying them out!
