Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

These students want to prepare for the Winter Competition in 2025 by reading all ten books during the summer vacation. Some will read 10 and others will not. Despite attending a Title I school (Horizon School), these students are committed to demonstrating their literacy skills.

With the help of these books, I hope to get my students ready for the annual Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Competition.

To ensure that the students are ready to compete with confidence rather than fear, I will test their understanding of the material by asking them questions about the topics covered in the books.
