Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Compassion is a choice that I want to encourage my students to choose. By utilizing the technology of an Ipad, my students will be able to watch videos of how people live throughout our world. We will also be able to use this technology to research cultures that are unlike ours. They will be able to experience what it is like to live in all different types of situations from poverty to exotic places. To help out people my students have learned about, we will use the technology to create a project to help raise funds for those in need. By using this technology, we can create powerpoints and other forms of presentations to campaign for our cause. To measure the success of my students' understanding of compassion, I will have them role-play scenarios, record their presentations, and have their peers evaluate their performance and their compassionate responses.
