This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Allow my students to leverage their COMPASSION project with social emotional learning that researches the loneliness of middle school students. Each group of students will research why students feel lonely at school, in order too, see the world through the eyes of another person. The impact goal is to understand situations of student loneliness and create positive impactful interactions by creating compassion and affirmation cards and posters. The student product goals is to develop positive products to pass out during the school year to make connections with students they may not interact with.

The materials I am requesting will allow my students to emphasize what they learned and be a change agent to loneliness by develop meaning messages, drawings, images that can positively uplift their mood and outcome towards friendships.

We currently do not have any ink to produce the cards and need the ink to print the cards.

I will measure the success of the outcome by creating a survey for students to take about the impact the cards and posters had on student loneliness and new friendships this school year.
