My Project

My students want a community service opportunity to put a Story Walk together on the campus where they attend school. They need a way to protect the story pages from the weather and can change stories for the 20 pedestals holding them. A Story Walk is an activity that engages students and families in literacy and getting active. Pages from a children’s book are printed and displayed along a walkable path.

This community service project supports the mission and value that every child develops literacy with family interaction.

Families have fun reading aloud together and building children’s interest in reading while enjoying the health benefits of exercise.
