Community Service Project to Build School Climate!

My Project

This project is for my K-2 classes to create encouragement bags for our 3-8th grade students for their state testing coming up in April. Since our K-2 classes don't participate in state testing we thought this could be a fun way for them to complete a community service project within our school community to help out 3-8th grade students feel seen and help them destress before the big test!

Showing students how to spread kindness at a young age is so meaningful and can help them create a sense of pride from within themselves to continue to show and spread kindness!

In the K-2 library classes, we will read one of the requested books about kindness. Then they will each create encouraging bags with candy and a positive note or drawing to include in the bags. They will then deliver the bags to the classes that will have state testing in April.

With this community service project our goal will be to encourage a positive and kind school culture. It will give our younger students an opportunity to shine and to support our older students during a stressful time of year! This is a great self-esteem booster for all students!
