Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our school has a diverse population of students from honors, special education, and English language learners who come from many different cultural backgrounds and educational needs. We are a Title I school, meaning that students come from many other social and economic circumstances. We have split our students into communities. Each community is assigned a color. Students must wear their community color shirts at school. This ensures safety during fire drills, lockdown drills, and evacuation exercises. Most of our students can only afford one shirt. This project will help those who are most in need the opportunity to wear a community shirt.
