Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from various backgrounds and are from low income families. My students are diverse learners with diverse learning needs. The majority of my students are multi-sensory learners. They learn best when materials are colorful and easily accessible.
My students need to learn about their community with books that are at their reading level as well as colorful.
It's important for students to have material that is accessible as well as easy to understand. As an educator it's important for students to have books that meet the learning needs of the student.
My Project
My students require a modified curriculum: They learn material when it is presented in a format that adapts to their learning style. The students that I teach are visual learners.
The United States map and community books will enhance their learning about the United States and its regions and people.
It is important that they have all the necessary material to learn and what better way than with the visuals that the books present. As their teacher, I want to be able to provide them with the best learning experience with material that will engage them and give them the content that they need about the topic.
