Our students are third graders and are so wanting to learn! They are eager each day for reading, writing, math and science in my classroom. My students are eight and nine year old boys and girls who may or may not have a computer or other technology tool at home. They may or may not be getting assistance with math HW at night. This is why the hands-on materials, technology tools, and flexible seating choices are so beneficial to them. My students attend a public school in Rhode Island and care about their learning!
My third graders are so eager to learn and engage in meaningful lessons and classroom workshops while using flexible seating choices.
I want to expose my students to a community classroom environment which will allow students to work together collaboratively and get ready for their adult world and beyond. Students would share ideas and materials in a comfortable, yet conducive environment for their age.
My Project
These flexible seating materials will make a difference in the lives of my students, as we do our best in meeting the real-world needs of 21st century clasrooms. I plan on reimagining the traditional classroom. My goal is to design an elementary classroom space, where you will see group tables that invite communication and collaboration. In addition, I would love to add cozy areas that support daily activities, like morning meeting and read aloud. The wobble stools and flexible seating options I have selected for donations support individual learning styles.
This flexible seating classroom design still encourages movement, collaboration, critical thinking, and will emphasize communication.
My students will thrive with these flexible seating options and the flexible seating options will allow them to collaborate more easily. These materials will be able to be configured in a variety of ways and will be used for years to come.
