My ELL Kindergarteners are such hard working students. They yearn to learn and make connections with their English speaking classmates. We lost our anchoring space that makes these vital relationships possible during 2019 due to COVID protocols. A classroom rug is the essential centerpiece to creating a space where my students will gather to share academic lessons, play partner games ,listen to stories read aloud, and choose a spot to comfortably complete independent work if they need a flexible seating option. A clean, healthy start to forge friendships this year.
