The best part of my classroom is my students. My second graders love to share and are open to new ideas. They enjoy working together the most-whether it is with one partner or with a group!
They are learning how to support one another and build each other up and in turn they are becoming more successful in academic tasks.
It is so rewarding to see the positive relationships they are forming and I am consistently impressed with what they can accomplish when they work as a team.
My Project
This carpet would make a tremendous difference in the functionality of our classroom. We meet as a group for our morning meeting and for every whole group lesson. It is often difficult for my second graders to transition to the front of the room without a specific place to sit.
This carpet will provide a central location where we can share, listen, and learn as a collaborative group.
There would be less focus on where to sit and more focus on participating. Having a specific spot to sit also helps when turning and talking to a partner.
I want my students to feel welcome and comfortable throughout all parts of the day. I love how this carpet is designed and truly believe it will support the vision I have for my second graders- to learn and succeed as a classroom community!
