This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a variety of experiences. These culturally diverse students are conscientious, respectful students who know what their responsibilities are and try their hardest to do their best. Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with all of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch. As a teacher in a low-income, high-poverty school district, I see how my students are confronted with many challenges and obstacles equally in and out of my classroom. For many of my students, they lack the experiences as well as materials they may need to succeed.
Help me give my students a new classroom carpet, so that my students will have a chance to get out of their chairs and come together to learn up close and personal!
My Project
A classroom carpet is a gathering place where the teacher and students get together to exchange ideas, have conversations, and learn concepts that are introduced and practiced. Students use their imagination while hearing stories from their teacher. Students learn to gather together and explore learning. It's the main focal place in your classroom and it should be inviting bright and colorful. A place worthy of sharing ideas, using your imagination, and honing your social skills all while learning. I want my students to have this place so that they feel welcomed and excited to learn.
