My students come from very diverse homes with a wide variety of cultural and economic differences. Our school sits on the banks of a major river which runs through our city and most of my students live within the metro area. Many of my students are from low-income families. The school is a Title I school with one hundred percent of the students in the school receiving free breakfasts and lunches daily.
Parental involvement is highly encouraged and communication between the classroom and the student's home is an important part of the educational process in my classroom.
We need a sturdy, child-friendly mailbox where student work and communications can be easily organized for students. This unit is structurally sound and can be placed in an area where students can reach on their own. This will help tremendously as we prepare for daily dismissal.
By donating to this project you will provide a safe and sturdy area for organizing important information for students to take home.
They will be able to identify their own papers and learn routines that help increase communications between the classroom and home.
This communication station will help me organize information going home to parents. A well-made unit will help promote safety while giving students the independence they need to become a responsible student.
